Applicants for the Security Systems Technical Support position must have a minimum of 5 years programming experience in all phases of IP Video Surveillance and Access Control Systems.
The Security Systems Technical Support Technician will work with a small team of other technical support providers of differing experience levels within the Remote Services Group (RSG). RSG supports our customers and technicians by providing remote programming and troubleshooting. The RSG team handles cases from the routine simple cases all the way through complex custom solutions. This role is a great move for an experienced security technician looking to move out of the field while still leveraging their experience. It is also a good role for a security programmer that wants an opportunity for growth. KB supports over 5 different video management software systems and 10 different access control solutions. This position will work with all KB supported software solutions.
Requirements for this opportunity:
- Minimum 3 years programming experience pertaining to VMS and ACC systems in the security industry
- Be able to provide full-service troubleshooting for customers and KB technicians
- Be able to program VMS and ACC systems remotely for customer and KB technicians
- Ability to work through remote software to finalize programming and training as needed
- Strong attention to detail and customer service mentality
- Demonstrate professional manner with external and internal customers
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Must maintain a clean, professional image
- Participate in at least 3-5 vendor trainings per year
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Must have excellent attendance record
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills
- Meet or exceed the “KB way”
- 50% in the field/40% office/10% remote
Job Duties
- Provide programming for KB customer’s systems, including Access Control, IP Video, Intrusion, and IP Intercoms
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, material used, and the nature of any problem encountered or identified with the systems.
- Attend monthly in-house training sessions
- Provide technical support for various security software systems
- Provide software/firmware updates for various systems
- Provide backups of various systems quarterly and at each system change
- Administer quality control assessment of trainees with training recommendations

- Strong communication is imperative when working for KB
- Daily progress notes
- Successful programming/commissioning of projects
- Verification of project/customer documentation in the cloud
- Dependable, on time and present for daily work
- Continued education for various systems
