Employee Spotlight: Bill Harris, Security Consultant and Application Engineer

Bill Harris has worked for Kenton Brothers for nearly 15 years. He’s grown through multiple areas of the company starting as a front counter technician. Then he made the move to service technician and grew to become the service department manager. From there, he took his current role as a sales application engineer. He specializes in hardware and electronic/remote releases and any other mechanical scenarios around a door.

A Police Officer?

Bill wasn’t always a locksmith. He started his career as a Police Officer for 10 years. And when interest rates shot up in the 80’s, he decided to look for a safe, stable career and found an interest in Locksmithing. Through the mentorship of a friend, and the Foley Bell Saw correspondence course, Bill’s start as a Locksmith had begun.

Throughout his tenure, he has held various positions of office in the Missouri Kansas Locksmith Association, including President.

In talking with Bill for this story, he said that he has gotten the most enjoyment in his current role as an application engineer. He likes solving customer problems and creating unique solutions to ensure everyone remains All Secure!

Bill is happily married to his wife Kay, and they enjoy camping at Smithville Lake in Clay County, Missouri. They love to spoil their three grandchildren. Bill also enjoys watching his favorite driver Kyle Busch in the NASCAR races.
