Employee Spotlight: Kevin Whaley, Sr. Security Consultant

Kevin came to Kenton Brothers after his role of 3 years as head of corporate security was eliminated at a corporate security bank, building their security program from the ground up. Before that, he was a security consultant with Burns & McDonnell. Kevin has known Gina Stuelke and David Strickland for many years. When Gina offered the opportunity as Sr. Security Consultant, he knew it couldn’t be passed up.

“I had a few opportunities to consider, but after speaking with Gina, David, and Kenton Brothers personnel, I knew this was my new home.”

Kevin’s role at Kenton Brothers is to provide customers with the proper security knowledge and services when it comes to their people, property, and possessions. He evaluates customers security programs and delivers detailed reports that help them identify opportunities for improvement or enhancement. Kevin not only evaluates the customer’s current physical features, but also their current security administration programs. For example: policies and procedures, staffing, training, crime analysis, threats, and other associated risks.

Kevin is happily married to his wife of 8 years, Erin, who is a microbiologist. They have two spunky children, Thomas and Kennedy. As a family, they like to go to parks and on hikes. In Kevin’s personal time, you can find him playing golf, hunting, or fishing.

“I am probably one of the most bowlegged people you’ll ever meet! Got my nickname from this in high school when my “friends” decided that if they put a giant rubber band around my legs, they could hypothetically use it as a “slingshot”. I’ve served multiple tours overseas, while serving in the Navy. I love a good bourbon and cigar! Professionally, and I know this sounds corny, but I love helping people and organizations by educating them about all things security related. It’s truly what drives me every day.”
