What is the KB Secret Sauce? Our People - Part OneAt Kenton Brothers Systems for Security, we pride ourselves on delivering innovative, customized security solutions to our clients, ensuring their safety and peace of mind. We like to call our unique process the KB Advantage.

Our success hinges on the expertise and dedication of our team members, each playing a vital role in providing remarkable security systems. Many of our readers don’t get to experience our remarkable staff members on a daily basis. So we thought we would create a two-part blog to spotlight some of the indispensable positions that play a significant role in KB’s success in delivering on our mission to Protect, People, Property and Possessions! We’ll be outlining the important contribution of our technicians and our consultants—both of which work directly with the customer, without which, we don’t have a business.

Security Installation Technician

I’d like to start with one of the most important customer facing roles in our organization. Security Installation Technicians are the backbone of our operations. They are responsible for the hands-on installation of our commercial security systems, including IP video surveillance systems, access control systems, alarms, and other high security mechanical hardware. Their role involves meticulous attention to detail to ensure that each component is installed correctly and functions seamlessly. At Kenton Brothers all of our technicians are manufacturer certified to work on the systems we integrate and all are certified in OSHA safety standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Installing and configuring security hardware and software
  • Leveraging experience and assessments to determine optimal equipment placement
  • Testing and troubleshooting installed systems to ensure they operate correctly
  • Providing training to customers on system usage

Skills and Qualifications

  • Certified proficiency with various security systems and tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address installation challenges
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers
  • Certification in relevant technical fields (e.g., cccess control, IP video surveillance, IT)

The proper installation of security systems is crucial for their effectiveness. A poorly installed camera or an incorrectly configured access control system can lead to vulnerabilities. KB Security Installation Technicians ensure that every component is optimally placed and configured, providing our clients with reliable security solutions.

Real-life Example of Impact

Consider a recent project where a team of security installation technicians were tasked with installing a comprehensive access control system at a large school district. Their expertise ensured that all access control systems worked flawlessly during a recent active shooter scare that happened two weeks after installation and commissioning. This professionally installed, enterprise-level system significantly reduced the risk of loss of life because of the professional nature of its installation.  Kenton Brothers and the community are very proud of these unsung heroes.

Security Consultant

Security Consultants are the bridge between our customers and our operational teams. These manufacturer certified consultants work closely with clients to understand their unique security needs and where risk exists. They create detailed assessments of the system as it exists and how the customer wants to interact with it. They involve important internal stake holders to be sure all bases are covered. Their role involves a deep understanding of security risks and mitigation strategies and weighing those against customer desires, needs and budget.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conducting security assessments and risk analyses
  • Interviewing all applicable stakeholders for a complete picture
  • Recommending the most suitable security technologies and products
  • Providing expert advice on security best practices

Skills and Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of security threats and countermeasures
  • Strong analytical skills to assess risks and vulnerabilities
  • Ability to design comprehensive security plans
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build trust with clients

Every client has unique security needs, and a one-size-fits-all approach is rarely effective. Security Consultants play a crucial role in crafting bespoke security solutions that address specific risks and requirements, ensuring optimal protection. They create a scope of work that certified engineers and technicians follow to create remarkable solutions.

Real-life Example of Impact

A Security Consultant recently worked with a large university for over 8 months to understand the complex nature of bringing their large access control platform up to the correct standards for life safety. By conducting a thorough risk assessment, and designing a tailored access control system with a strategic timeline for takeovers, the client was able to see the long-term benefit to starting the process. The client praised the consultant for their expertise and the tangible improvement in security and awarded Kenton Brothers the project.

Technicians and sales consultants each play a vital role in delivering comprehensive security solutions to our clients. Their collective efforts ensure that our clients receive the highest level of protection and peace of mind. As we look to the future, the importance of these roles will only grow, as we continue to innovate and adapt to new security challenges. Together, we are committed to safeguarding our clients’ assets and providing them with remarkable security solutions!

The success, reputation and longevity of Kenton Brothers Systems for Security is built on the expertise and dedication of our team members. It’s our special sauce!
